Mr. Devendra Kumar is a seasoned banking leader with 39+ years of experience, primarily in retail banking across leading institutions. After retiring from State Bank of India , he served as Advisor to its Wealth and Premier Banking Business and, in March 2024, was appointed by the Reserve Bank of India as Advisor to Abhyudaya Coop Bank Ltd., Mumbai.

He previously held the position of Chief General Manager – Personal Banking at SBI, overseeing nationwide retail operations with assets exceeding ₹5.2 trillion and liabilities of ₹38 trillion, driving significant market share growth. He also headed SBI’s Associates & Subsidiaries Department, supervising 13 RRBs and 11 subsidiaries, and served as nominee director on multiple boards, namely SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd, SBI Payments Services Pvt Ltd, SBI SG Global Securites Services Pvt Ltd, C-Edge Technilogies Pvt Ltd and PSB Alliance Pvt Ltd.

Currently, he is an Independent Director at Umang Boards Ltd. He brings deep expertise in retail banking, product strategy, governance, and stakeholder collaboration, with a strong commitment to driving growth, innovation, and customer-centric excellence in the BFSI sector.
